HSE Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Manager to oversee Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) operations, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, industry standards, and company policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE procedures, conducting risk assessments, monitoring workplace safety, and promoting a strong safety culture across all operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
- Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, applicable environmental laws, and relevant industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
- Monitor workplace activities to ensure adherence to safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Conduct HSE training, toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
- Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, reports, risk assessments, method statements, and emergency response plans.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and ensure effective implementation of emergency response procedures.
- Monitor contractor compliance with HSE requirements and ensure safe execution of work activities.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and relevant stakeholders regarding HSE matters.
- Track HSE performance indicators, prepare periodic reports, and recommend improvements.
- Lead initiatives to reduce workplace accidents, environmental risks, and operational hazards.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and transportation of gas-related materials and equipment, where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH IGC is essential; NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is an advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably within the gas, oil and gas, industrial, or engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of UAE HSE legislation, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, safety audits, and emergency response management.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct safety training and effectively manage employees and contractors.
- Proficiency in preparing HSE reports and maintaining safety documentation.
- Candidates with relevant UAE industry experience will be preferred.
