QAQC & Material Engineer
Job Summary:
The QA/QC & Material Engineer is responsible for managing material approvals, quality control, and ensuring that all interior fit-out and MEP materials and works comply with project specifications, approved submittals, drawings, and consultant requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare material submissions for approval for interior fit-out and MEP works, including:
Architectural first fix materials.
Architectural finishes and final materials.
MEP first fix materials.
MEP second fix materials.
- Coordinate with consultants, PMC, suppliers, and project teams to obtain timely material approvals.
- Review and verify material compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and contract requirements.
- Follow up on material procurement, ordering, manufacturing, and delivery schedules to support project progress.
- Inspect delivered materials and ensure they comply with approved material submittals and project specifications.
- Prepare and raise Material Inspection Requests (MIR), Material Approval Requests (MAR), and Mock-Up Approval Requests.
- Coordinate consultant inspections and obtain approvals for materials and mock-ups.
- Monitor the quality of installation works for interior fit-out and MEP activities.
- Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed out.
- Maintain material approval logs, inspection records, and QA/QC documentation.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and project handover activities.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in QA/QC and material engineering for interior fit-out projects with MEP exposure.
- Good knowledge of interior fit-out materials, finishes, and MEP systems.
- Familiarity with consultant approval processes and QA/QC documentation procedures.
