trading with all kind of Electrical Accessories, Light Fittings, Cables, Wires, Pumps, Marine Products Etc. We
also specialize in Switchgear Components and Pannel Boards (both Supplies as well as Distribution Board
Manufacturers). They have established a very good and mutual business relations with their customers all
over the U.A.E & International market
Brief description:
The Business Development Manager – Electrical Trading is responsible for driving revenue growth,
expanding the company’s market presence across the GCC and broader MENA region, and leading strategic
partnerships with manufacturers, distributors, and end-clients in the electrical equipment sector. A critical
dimension of this role is overseeing product certification support processes, ensuring all traded electrical
products comply with applicable regional and international standards (e.g., ESMA, DEWA, SASO, IEC, CE,
UL) before market entry. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of electrical products with
proven commercial acumen and regulatory awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & SALES
• Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across the UAE & GCC & Africa for the full
electrical product portfolio (switchgear, cables, lighting, distribution boards, wiring accessories, automation
components, etc.).
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with EPC contractors, MEP consultants, government utility
bodies, real estate developers, and tier-1 distributors.
• Lead the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting and technical presentations through to contract
negotiation and post-sale account management.
• Develop annual revenue targets and territory plans in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
• Conduct market intelligence activities — tracking competitor pricing, product launches, and demand
trends — and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
PRODUCT CERTIFICATION SUPPORT
• Act as the internal champion for product compliance, coordinating with manufacturers, third party testing
labs (e.g., TÜV, Intertek, SGS, Bureau Veritas), and local regulatory authorities to obtain and maintain
required certifications.
• Manage the full certification lifecycle for new and existing product lines: gap analysis, documentation
preparation, lab testing coordination, regulatory submission, and certificate renewal tracking.
• Ensure all products listed in the trading catalogue meet the mandatory requirements of target markets,
including ESMA (UAE), SASO (Saudi Arabia), GSO (GCC Standardization), CE (Europe), and IEC/EN
standards as applicable.
• Liaise with DEWA, ADDC, SEC, and other utility/authority approval bodies to obtain product approvals
required for project specifications.
• Maintain a live certification register, proactively flagging upcoming renewals, standard revisions, or non
compliance risks to the management team.
• Train the internal sales and procurement teams on product compliance requirements and help customers
navigate specification and approval processes.
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS & SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
• Source, evaluate, and onboard new electrical product lines from global and regional manufacturers aligned
with market demand and margin targets.
• Negotiate exclusive or preferred distribution agreements, pricing frameworks, and co marketing
arrangements with key suppliers.
• Collaborate with procurement on demand forecasting, inventory positioning, and lead-time management
for high-value product categories.
TENDERING & PROJECT SUPPORT
• Prepare and review technical and commercial bid submissions, Bill of Quantities (BOQ) analyses, and
value-engineering proposals for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.
• Work with design/engineering teams to ensure products submitted for approval meet project
specifications and local authority requirements.
• Track and manage a robust project pipeline using CRM tools, reporting weekly on deal progression and
closure forecasts.
REPORTING & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
• Deliver monthly business development reports covering pipeline, revenue performance, market trends,
and certification status to the Commercial Director.
• Partner with finance on credit risk assessment for new accounts and with logistics on import compliance
and country-of-origin requirements.
• Represent the company at industry exhibitions (e.g., Middle East Electricity, Light + Building, ELECTRA)
and relevant technical forums.
Qualifications & Experience
ESSENTIAL
• 7–12 years of progressive experience in electrical product trading, distribution, or project sales within the
GCC market.
• Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a B2B environment.
• Hands-on experience managing product certification or regulatory compliance for electrical equipment
(ESMA, SASO, CE, IEC, UL, or equivalent).
• Strong technical understanding of LV/MV switchgear, cables, lighting systems, wiring accessories, power
distribution, or building automation products.
• Established network with MEP contractors, consultants, and procurement decision-makers in the UAE
and broader GCC.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken); Arabic is a significant advantage.
PREFERRED
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Business Management. An MBA is a plus.
• Experience dealing with DEWA, ADDC, SEC, or other GCC utility authority approval processes.
• Familiarity with standards bodies such as IEC, BSI, ANSI, and knowledge of CE/UKCA marking
requirements.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid UAE driving license.
